Welcome. Rag Tag ‘n’ Textile is a registered charity working with people who are recovering from mental health problems. Based in Skye and Wester Ross, in the Highlands of Scotland, we are a social enterprise, making hand-crafted items from recycled textiles. People working with us gain confidence and find the experience in supportive environment to be of very great benefit to them, and often their experience helps them return to employment after illness. We also aim to reduce the stigma that many sufferers of mental illness face.
Rag Tag ‘n’ Textile also produces unique, high quality products which are sold at very reasonable prices. We are making beautiful things in a beautiful place. Everything we produce is unique as everything is made from recycled materials. We have developed our own range of products but even when items are of the same design, each piece is made from recycled fabrics so no two items are exactly the same. Everything that we produce is hand finished. We concentrate on quality and innovative design which we hope will compete in any market-place. We have also used touring displays and exhibitions to showcase our work.
Visit our shop in Balmacara in person and see the beautiful things we make. From Easter to October, we are open from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm. In the winter, we operate reduced hours, so please phone ahead before travelling, to check we are open.
